∞ i accept responsibility for myself and my recovery ∞

making amends means to make changes and, above all, to make the situation right. that is part of being responsible for my recovery today.
but before i go any further, i did what i said i was going to do yesterday, i changed the look of my web site and made changes to the underlying code so that it is compliant with standards. i like the new look although it is much darker than before, it does have some nice contrasting elements. but enough of that digression back to the issue at hand -- responsibility and amends --
so what about it? am i really being responsible for my recovery? i am certain there is more than one person out there who feel that i owe them an amends, and i happen to be on my eighth step right now, so it is a good thing i am pondering the nature of the harm i caused. my sponsor gave me specific direction as i started to work this step, and he said that the only people or institutions that need to be on the list are those that i caused actual harm to. being the type of addict that i am -- a contract lawyer sort, who looks for and finds every loophole i can -- i saw this as a big loophole and as a result currently have no one on my list. i am certain that will change over the course of the next few days, as i work through the questions in the step working guide. be that as it may, my task for today, is to allow myself to surrender to the process, get a few things accomplished for my clients, meet with a sponsee, go to a meeting and see how much responsibility i can handle. yesterday’s little diversion was a good exercise in preparing for what i need to do today, so it is off to the races and into the fray. oh yeah,it is a good day to recover!
