responsible for my recovery and my behaviors
what a concept
given the fact that i have done my best to be irresponsible throughout my life, accepting responsibility for anything is sometimes a bitter pill to swallow
the program has given me a different outlook, namely that i can no longer blame my disease, external circumstances or others for my behavior. i choose today to act the way i do and to cause harm and chaos
it is for those choices i must take responsibilty today. i can deny that there is anything wrong in my current behavior or act as if my actions have no consequences, but the truth is i am not an island. all of my actions for good or ill have consequences whether i want to look at it or not.
i may not always catch myself in the act but,i do have the tools necessary to evaluate my actions, feelings and recovery on a daily basis and to back and make right the wrongs.
so i guess i am responsible today!

☯ The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao ☯
by Lao-Tse
Translated by James Legge
Book 2
2) He (who knows it) will keep his mouth shut and close the portals
(of his nostrils). He will blunt his sharp points and unravel the
complications of things; he will attemper his brightness, and bring
himself into agreement with the obscurity (of others). This is called
'the Mysterious Agreement.'
