↔ the continual search for answers to ups and downs if life, can lead me to …

question all aspects of my life. life is not always pleasant. sometimes all i can do is hold on tight, believing that things will get better.
the long and winding road seems to get more narrow the longer i traverse it. an interesting thought and one that i may or may not run with this morning. things are not going according to my plan, and i am almost ready to throw up! well not that bad, but perhaps it is time to take a shower and see if a brief break will get me on track. anyhow, what is frustrating me today is really a trifle compared to what some of my friends are going through. i do not have a flooded home to deal with, my partners are not leaving me, nor am i chafing under the yoke of the justice system. so all in all, life is not that bad today, however i have yet to leave the comfort of my home, so we will see.
however, i am quite comfortable with the fact that no matter what does happen, no matter how bad i feel, i can stay clean and choose to recover today. that sounds so trite and cliché, i know, but it has been my experience along this path. i am certainly having trouble focusing on this task, so i guess i should take a clue, and say that no matter what i will stay clean today and do what it takes to be just another recovering addict.

☯ The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao ☯
by Lao-Tse
Translated by James Legge
Book 2
1) Without going outside his door, one understands (all that takes
place) under the sky; without looking out from his window, one sees
the Tao of Heaven. The farther that one goes out (from himself), the
less he knows.
