looking for God
posted: Wed, Jul 7, 2004 04:48:22 AM
an interesting thought --
if i look for God in others i will more readily see God in myself.
i usually do not have any problem seeing evidence of God in othres it is myself that seems to be lacking
i feel that sonmetimes i am no more spiritual than the day i first came to the program
i am still riddled with fear, self-doubt and self-defeating attitudes
i still procrastinate and find things to do to fill that God shaped hole within
i also recognize these attitudes for what they are -- A LIE
i am better off today than i was yesterday, a year ago or when i walked in.
if i begin to believe the lies i tell myself, i will return to that miserable existence i used to be so fond of
so just for today i will seek the God in others, so i can better see the God in me

☯ The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao ☯

Book 1
2) When gold and jade fill the hall, their possessor cannot keep them
safe. When wealth and honours lead to arrogancy, this brings its evil
on itself. When the work is done, and one's name is becoming distinguished,
to withdraw into obscurity is the way of Heaven.
