🔜 speaking to 🔚

the problem, or the solution? TAKE TWO! welp i did an oopsy and closed my browser after checking out the cigar sale, so i have to start again.
i am not the sort of person who prays for stuff or thinks about stuff in order to manifest that stuff in my life. i often see the worst in some one or some situation, before i see the best. if there is a silver lining, i do not look for it, until after the storm. i am without a doubt, a dyed in the wool cynic and have embraced that as part of who i am for quite some time. where once upon a time i was without a doubt a “Donnie Downer,” is have left that part of my identity behind and embraced being okay with who i am, without having to tear down others.
as i walk through each day, i look for the opportunities provided by the POWER that fuels my recovery, to gain a bit of personal power. quite honestly, there are not a whole lot, but in my experience, if i want stuff to be manifest in my life, i have to nurture it along by exercising the opportunities i get in my daily life. it is true, however, that when i speak to the best in someone, rather than the worst, i feel a bit more whole and genuine. when i walk on the sunny side of the street, there is more serenity and balance in my life. all of that does not mean i am giving up cynicism for Lent or i am becoming a “Susie Sunshine.” no it means that i am a realist and if i want something different, such as balance and serenity, than i have to do something different, such as not being such a sh!t and looking for the way, instead of forcing it, just for today.

☯ The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao ☯

THE TAO TEH KING, OR THE TAO AND ITS CHARACTERISTICS
by Lao-Tse
Translated by James Legge

Book 2

1) Without going outside his door, one understands (all that takes
place) under the sky; without looking out from his window, one sees
the Tao of Heaven. The farther that one goes out (from himself), the
less he knows.
