wreckage of my past
posted: Wed, Aug 25, 2004 04:26:45 AM

i relish the idea of reclaiming my life from the wreckage of my past and have had the opportunity to do this. i find that if i am present and am diligent i my daily maintenance the wreckage i create is much less today. i believe that i was chosen (for whatever reason) to walk this path and that as a result the more apply the principles the less likely i am to have to make amends in the future.
this all sounds wonderful, but alas, i too am only human and suffer from the frailties of the human condition. my disease has warped the frailties to become shortcomings that go well beyond the normal human condition and as a result i must be that much more present and accountable for my behaviors in the here and now. i no longer have the luxury of being complacent about what and who i am.
the good news is that there are people that have walked this before me and who share the journey in the HERE and NOW, by watching, listening, remaining open-minded and willing, i too with the help of GOD overcome the ravages of active addiction and grow into the man i want to become.
