a new frontier

my life is a new frontier?
HMMMMMMM
i have not considered that before but it does make sense, after all i hardly know what today may bring let alone tomorrow. so maybe i should just let go and see what happens. this brings me back to the 3rd step surrendering to the loving care of a POWER GREATER than me.
To explore this uncharted territory, as i am forced to do on a daily basis, i do need a powerful and reliable vehicle. after all i may get lost, but i hardly want to break down in the middle of terra incognito. the reading strongly suggests that i use the LOVE i have found since i came to the program. today i know that love comes from many sources, most of which were available to me before i reached the point of admitting that i was an addict. GOD, my family, my friends and most of all those who were on this path before i decided to walk it are the source of the LOVE i have received since getting clean. each of these provide me with the LOVE i need today to move forward and have shown me that i can also love myself and derive strength from there too!
this abundance of LOVE needs to be given freely to those in my life so i can keep it. the concept of giving away what i have been given in order to keep it goes against my self-centered, selfish nature, however i have seen what happens to those who choose to hold on to their gifts tightly -- they sicken, withdraw and eventually return to their previous state, active addiction! today i want to thrive not merely survive, so i guess i need to follow the simple suggestion that was provided in today’s reading.

☯ The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao ☯

THE TAO TEH KING, OR THE TAO AND ITS CHARACTERISTICS
by Lao-Tse
Translated by James Legge

Book 1

1) We look at it, and we do not see it, and we name it 'the Equable.'
We listen to it, and we do not hear it, and we name it 'the Inaudible.'
We try to grasp it, and do not get hold of it, and we name it 'the
Subtle.' With these three qualities, it cannot be made the subject
of description; and hence we blend them together and obtain The One.
