enough said, time to move along.
what i heard this morning, was a reflection of a theme started several weeks ago, by one of my peers, who has been “around” the rooms for nearly a decade but never managed to accumulate much clean time, before they decided that using was their best choice, unless of course, they were locked up. there contention and the one i heard echoed through one of my peers last night, that no matter what is: we, as the members of the fellowship, are SUPPOSED to give them anything they want, because they are asking for help. disregard their recent bad behaviors, poor decision making and lack of visibility, they are back here for a minute so GIMME, GIMME, GIMME! not a whole lotta love there.
what i told the peer, who was asking for my input, was that if he trusted their home and family, with someone who is in an unknown state, then to what was in their heart. by unknown state, they have no direct knowledge of when the last time, the greedy bastard addict had last used, but behaviors seemed to indicate it was not that long ago.
when i got here, i was from trustworthy, and i was hardly working a program, but i was working the members, for everything i thought i NEEDED, but actually wanted. everything went in one direction, >>> TO ME. remember those days, fondly or not so fondly, but when i remember those days it certainly is not hard to project my motives on the actions of my nearly in the rooms peers, in the present tense. what i am walking away with this morning, is that i need to forgive, not forget. i need to be open to the notion that maybe i am not being played and manipulated and until i have direct evidence give someone the benefit of the doubt. gold does not always reveal itself by glittering.
