well i knew i was responsible for my recovery. and i knew that i responsible for my behavior. i now have to be responsible for how i interact with others, including my friends? boy what will they come up with next -- something like aligning my will with GOD‘s -- well that is an entirely different matter that will come up again soon enough.
actually taking responsibility for my actions and cleaning-up the messes i make, through the amends process is probably a step further along the alignment process. the worse part of this whole thing is; that as i get more days under my belt, as i work more steps, as i grow spiritually i actually have less and less freedom to act selfishly and more and more responsibility to practice a spiritual principle or three in my daily life. my excuses diminish and i am left standing bare-assed in front of GOD and everyone, when i behave in a manner that requires an amend of any sort.
so not only do i want to be a responsible friend, who makes amends simply and directly as needed, i try and take responsibility one step further, choose my behaviors and actions in such a manner that i do not have to go and clean-up any of my little shit piles. and that truly is the path towards aligning my will with GOD‘s
