my contribution
posted: Sun, Aug 22, 2004 07:48:14 AM
i often dismiss or overstate (at least in my own mind) what exactly my contribution has been and continues to be to the fellowship that has given me back my life.
the biggest challenge for me comes when newcomers do not seek me out to talk after a meeting, after all do i not have something to give them too! i have come to the realization that it is not the quantity of my service that is important, it is the quality. if i help just one of my fellow travelers today then i have made a difference, regardless of the amount of time they may currently have. i realize that carrying the message happens not only when i share, but also when i truly participate in service committee meetings and when i just live my life by the spiritual principles i have been given.
today i am truly grateful to be a part of something more and will give back anything and everything i can.
