↔ life often seems too complicated to understand, especially for me, …

... one that has dodged it for so long. looking at life and all its details, all at once, may be overwhelming. these thoughts feed themselves, and pretty soon i am paralyzed by the imagined complexity of life, or whatever. anyhow here i sat, starting to write this blo9gf and i found a mess that needed to be attended to. oh, this was a mess that could have been several days, weeks or even months ago, namely the accumulation of paper and other stuff including dust in my office. i am too busy to take care of cleaning my office, and naturally more important than doing such a menial task. well over the past week, i have been reducing the clutter in my garage, my office and i guess if you look at it, in my life. cleaning house, sweeping clean, will continue over the next few hours, as there is always more for me to send to the recycle bin, but it is a task that once completed will be done for a while.
so a good question at this point is how does this really relate to how i deal with the complexities of life? well, i could say that doing this major paper shift and dusting is one way to avoid doing what needs to be done to face the momentary ebb and flow of life on life’s terms. or i could also look at it this flurry of cleaning, sorting, recycling and grinding as a manner of reducing the complexity of my current life, by reducing the clutter i have in front of me. either way is finer by me, and i think that if forced to make a choice i will go with the latter.
what do i need to do to face the world and life today? well for one head out to do some on site work, then come back and see how much more parer i can send to the recycle plant, then meet with a sponsee, and then look at my accounts receivables for the month and take care of what i can. the rest will sort itself out, as the day goes on. this momentary lapse into cleaniline4ss and neatness, i am sure, will soon pass, just like everything else, so i better get as much done as i can while the urge is still upon me.

☯ The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao ☯

THE TAO TEH KING, OR THE TAO AND ITS CHARACTERISTICS
by Lao-Tse
Translated by James Legge

Book 2

1) All things are produced by the Tao, and nourished by its outflowing
operation. They receive their forms according to the nature of each,
and are completed according to the circumstances of their condition.
Therefore all things without exception honour the Tao, and exalt its
outflowing operation.
