character defects and my job
posted: Sun, Nov 21, 2004 08:44:38 AM

i like this morning’s reading, because lately i have been hearing people share about focusing and working on their character defects. i need the remonder that removing my character defects is the job of a LOVING HIGHER POWER and my part in that is to let them go.
that does not mean it is GOD’s job to choose my behaviors for me. i happen to believe in free-will and when i am acting-out on my character defects on of two things is probably happening. i may be suffering from a reservation in my program that is driving me into the willing and waiting arms of my disease, in this case the behavior is a symptom of something going on that needs to be addressed. or, i may be choosing to act in self-will for no other reason than i am still a selfish, self-centered bastard and i sometimes choose to ignore GOD’s will for me.
in either case i am still holding on to my character defects and preventing GOD from doing the job.
so a reading like this is a wonderful reminder of what i need to do, to continue this journey.
