↔ the 12th Tradition reminds me of the importance of putting **principles before personalities.** ↔

in meetings, this might be paraphrased, **do not shoot the messenger.**
although, sometimes it feels like my only alternative!
such as it is, i understand that what is being said, is far more important than who is saying. understanding this, and living this are two different animals for me. i am writing this way late today, even though i started my morning earlier than normal, it has just been one of those days, and thinking about this topic six hours after first reading it, perhaps gives me a different slant.
anyhow, taking a breather to reconsider what i am writing was certainly a good idea. i could launch into one of my diatribes about how someone shares, or how i judge them to say one thing and do another, or even the whole they just do not get it, so why bother game. all of those are behaviors i have exercised in the past, and probably will engage in, in the future, i am after all, not perfect and subject to the frailties of my human condition.
that is why i need to carefully consider these little recovery tidbits that come to e-mail box, every morning, no matter how many time i have read them in the past. with that thought in mind, i will get back to the task at hand and remeber it is the message not the messenger that i need to pay battention to, toady and every day.

☯ The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao ☯
by Lao-Tse
Translated by James Legge
Book 1
1) The skilful traveller leaves no traces of his wheels or footsteps;
the skilful speaker says nothing that can be found fault with or blamed;
the skilful reckoner uses no tallies; the skilful closer needs no
bolts or bars, while to open what he has shut will be impossible;
the skilful binder uses no strings or knots, while to unloose what
he has bound will be impossible. In the same way the sage is always
skilful at saving men, and so he does not cast away any man; he is
always skilful at saving things, and so he does not cast away anything.
This is called 'Hiding the light of his procedure.'
