∞  self-pity and recovery  ∞
posted: Mon, Feb 21, 2005 05:48:49 AM

for some reason i woke up this morning in just a poor me mood. i did not want to get out of bed and face the day at all. even though i did what i have done every morning i am still in a place. nothing is good enough, i cannot do anything right or it takes an extraordinary effort to accomplish and i just want to crawl back into my bed and go to sleep with the covers over my head and isolate myself from everyone and everything.
i know that this is will pass, but it feels like the days gone by. of course my head tells me that i should feel one way and since i am in a mood recovery is not working.
what the hell is going on?? i do not know. could it be that i actually did some writing on the first step last night? could it be the little tiff i had with my girl friend last night? could it be the time i have lost to my disease? or could it just be???!
well whatever it is, i will go through my day as if i am doing OK and try to limit the damage i do in my wake. naming feelings is really unimportant. finding the root cause is just as useless. living life and facing the world through the eyes of recovery and not the eyes of self-pity is the action i need to take and see what happens.
