¢ i DO remember very uncomfortable experiences with religion ¢

and i still, from time to time, shy away from **that God stuff.**
nevertheless, and i DO like using that way overused word, i also have come to a accommodation, that the power for me to stay clean, NEEDS to come from outside of me. my experience, IS, that even in those brief moments, and they were so brief as to be almost nonexistent, that i desired to stay clean in active addiction, i COULD NOT. even when i HAD to stay clean, to avoid consequences i deemed undesirable, i COULD not. even when i grudgingly surrendered to the notion that i just MIGHT be powerless over addiction, i could not stay clean UNTIL i asked for some power, any power to give me what i NEEDED to stay clean today. speaking of which:

Thanks for being here, Carlos
for 29 years of just for todays

in fact, today i look to my sponsor as part of that gift i get each and every day, namely the power to stay clean. that power comes from the POWER that fuels my recovery, and that term as generic and as mamby-pamby as it sounds, is one that i CAN always live with and use no matter what, literally and figuratively.
anyhow, i could write an entire treatise on this whole concept, but i have a long day ahead of me that i need to get rolling on, so suffice it to say, that i CAN use this POWER and be comfortable talking about it, because it works for me. after all, it is ALL about how things work for me, n&39;est-ce pas!

2) Those three methods (of government)
Thought olden ways in elegance did fail
And made these names their want of worth to veil;
But simple views, and courses plain and true
Would selfish ends and many lusts eschew.
