🎈 meetings help 🎈
posted: Wed, Sep 6, 2017 08:16:55 AM

put me that much further from becoming a using addict again. i went to a meeting last night, a meeting that is available locally and has grown quite large over the past years. when i left that meeting i certainly did not feel like using, but i was far from enamored about the whole atmosphere of recovery, that the home group members of that particular meeting choose to foster. one hundred criticisms, would neither be fair, nor appropriate. in the end, i do have the freedom to choose which meetings i attend, and for right now, that will not be one of my regular “rest stops.”
moving along into the meat of the meeting reading, today i find that meeting attendance, whether i am a regular there or not, is an essential part of my program of active recovery. i am not one of those who “steals” my recovery, by showing up once or twice a year, gushing about how wonderful my life is and paying lip service to the gratitude that i feel towards the fellowship that has given me all the material gifts i now possess. of all those who pass through the doors, the thieves in my mind are the worst of the worst and i am resolved never to become one of those.enough about my little pet peeve, the fact is, i certainly throw a judgement or two and through the steps, i certainly hope to get better than that.
this morning, i am am still dealing with the construction project i have going on in my house. this disruption to my comfortable life, has me in a bit of a tizzy and although i know the end is near, i still dread the next three days. it is what it is, so the time has come to, wrap this up, take ap[art my computer and be ready to work in a construction zone, again today.

Book 1

1) The partial becomes complete; the crooked, straight; the empty,
full; the worn out, new. He whose (desires) are few gets them; he
whose (desires) are many goes astray.
