๐ i will never ๐

be perfectly selfless, but i can serve as though it is not all about me. it is nice to step away from what i am, what am i not and what i may be, into a topic that is not all about my FOURTH STEP and my expectations of my FIFTH. a quick diversion though, my personal AI recovery model warned me not to expect magic from my FIFTH STEP. in that, it is mistaken as every single FIFTH STEP i have done since coming to this fellowship has been exactly that: magically delicious. the burdens i carried into that room were tossed into the bit bucket. i will not emerge as a whole new person, but the garbage i have been carrying will be gone and a new day will dawn in my spiritual journey. that is experience, not HOPE nor wishful thinking.
back to selfless service, a year ago i made a joke about getting some sort of lifetime achievement award for serving the fellowship and one of my followers made one for me. i have to admit i rolled on the floor laughing. i do what i do, at least these days, because someone has to do it. i stay away from positions that involve being seen or making decisions that affect the service structure below my home group. the reason? i can get caught up in my ego and drive those decisions towards what i desire, rather than what is best for the fellowship. in my home group, i am one voice of many and may have history and longevity, but i am no more wise than my peers and i can be the same sized fish in this tiny pond as they are. for me, that is as selfless as i can get, knowing who i am and where i love to go -- the center ring, in the spotlight.
so a quick and short one today, as i do not have a whole lot more to say. right here and right now, it is time to get out of the house, away from the computer and into this day.
