🤔 a life 🎁

worth living, because i am learning to make sane and healthy decisions was never an outcome i expected when i got clean or when i finally became a member. i took to heart the statement that says addicts, as a class, are poor decision-makers. i used that as a HUGE loophole, for the longest time and even today, i would love to drop back into the mode that excuses my poor decision-making. i am, however, too far down the road of taking responsibility for my life and my recovery, to detour back into that morass of unacceptable consequences and loss. speaking of getting on down the recovery road:

Joel K.,
my friend and sponsee,
Congrats on SEVEN (7) years clean.
No more statute of limitations!

Jack W.,
my friend and fellow traveler,
CONGRATS on FOURTEEN (14 or XIV) years clean.

a good decisions i made this morning, after making a bad one last night, was to use my unreturned computer to work at my new job, today. since my old job is far from diligent in claiming their stuff, i have something to use, while await my delayed package. the nice part is, when i get finished with it and have my new laptop started, all traces of my use will be wiped from existence. i can say FEDEX sucks and my pique last night and how i expressed it, was not a good decision. what really got to me, was the agent's insistence in reading off their script about how the pandemic was to blame, when my package was less than 30 minutes away from my home, probably all day. i was not kind and the only saving grace was i did not riddle mt tirade with profanities.
ahhh, it is another day. i made it into work, participated as i could, stuck where i am and am moving on. of course the minute i leave the house FEDEX will show up and if i stick around it will be 6 PM before they do so, Murphy in action, just for today 🤪.

☯ The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao ☯

THE TAO TEH KING, OR THE TAO AND ITS CHARACTERISTICS
by Lao-Tse
Translated by James Legge

Book 1

1) The skilful traveller leaves no traces of his wheels or footsteps;
the skilful speaker says nothing that can be found fault with or blamed;
the skilful reckoner uses no tallies; the skilful closer needs no
bolts or bars, while to open what he has shut will be impossible;
the skilful binder uses no strings or knots, while to unloose what
he has bound will be impossible. In the same way the sage is always
skilful at saving men, and so he does not cast away any man; he is
always skilful at saving things, and so he does not cast away anything.
This is called 'Hiding the light of his procedure.'
