i can rally the willingness to release those unhelpful self-concerns that are the enemy of my joy, is certainly one that i can get down with today. the key here is unhelpful self-concerns. does my obsession with fantasy football or AI-assisted fiction count as unhelpful? i am pretty sure they do not as i may have enough vanity to want to kick my opponents ass into the dirt or write a bestseller, but as i work through my daily life, i am finding there is more freedom in adding those as part of my spice of life, rather than thinking about them all the time. that being said, it is Tuesday and that means waiver day. a quick trip through that obsession and back to this exercise.
it was one of those quiet mornings when i went deeper and longer into the void than i usually do. the odd part of that, was i did not have any sort of feeling or knowledge when i returned to the land of the living. most of the time, i feel something or have some sort of idea in my head about where i need to go and what i may need to do, spiritually at least. i could read all sorts of stuff into that, instead i choose to leave it alone and deal with the seed i took with me, “i am not too cool to be willing.” i have been down this path more than once about how i believed anyone who needed a TWELVE STEP fellowship had something inherently wrong with them, and it certainly was not me. 😆 here i sit, thousands of days later well ensconced in a Twelve Step fellowship, that has become most of my life. and yes i do have something inherent in me that i have come to accept as fact: i am an addict. i am not addicted to things, behaviors and substances, those nuances are far behind me. thank goodness! is that something inherently wrong? i do not know, but for me it is just a fact of life and as such i CHOOSE to be an active participating member of a 12 STEP fellowship.
today, my day has been quiet, my obsessions are balanced and i am going to work this afternoon. nothing is what it should not be and i think that i will go with that flow. it is nice to have a real autumn day for a change and i am sad that winter is coming. well not winter in particular, the darkness than accompanies it, more than the cold and snow. IMHO, year round daylight savings time would suck. if we were going to stop moving the clocks, i would prefer that we stay on standard time, but i am a lone voice against the corporate lobbyists that pay to have their shills elected to Congress. i will be okay and this too shall pass as the season progresses and i “get to” choose to live in the dark with the hope of spring to soon return.
