encourage and comfort me by telling us what worked -- and what did not work -- for them. okay this metaphor is a bit cheesy, but it is a good one for me today. learning to walk in recovery, is a good reminder to me, that i did not just spring into this stage of my recovery. i could not walk until i learned to crawl, and i could not run until i learned to walk. just like a child i have gone through many phases in my recovery. step by step, discovery after discovery, each builds on the other, and i get the tools and skills i need to move forward.
so what am i feeling today? well a bit r5ushed as i have a service commitment down in Pueblo in three hours, and i needed to eat, and do a light workout, and meditate and work and so forth, before i could get in my car and head down there. so naturally, what ends up suffering is this little exercise, although it does not need to.
the fact of the matter is, that i cannot not settle down and give this the proper attention. so instead of writing about nothing, i do believe i will get moving towards my next destination, it is after all, a good day to recover.

THE TAO TEH KING, OR THE TAO AND ITS CHARACTERISTICS
by Lao-Tse
Translated by James Legge

Book 2

1) A master of the art of war has said, 'I do not dare to be the host
(to commence the war); I prefer to be the guest (to act on the defensive).
I do not dare to advance an inch; I prefer to retire a foot.' This
is called marshalling the ranks where there are no ranks; baring the
arms (to fight) where there are no arms to bare; grasping the weapon
where there is no weapon to grasp; advancing against the enemy where
there is no enemy.
