i find that i no longer have to carry the burdens of the past. to blatantly steal something from popular culture, oh what a relief it is! yes, the NINTH STEP is the final chapter in the part of the steps, that allows me to put my past to rest. that changes my past from being full of shame and secrets, into a tool i can use, to carry the message and to further my own growth. so as i prepare to look at my own NINTH STEP list and see that perhaps my sponsor was correct and there was no real harm on it, i feel sort of let down. where is the justice in not having any new amends to add to my list. i mean seriously what the fVck, happened???!!!
the answer to that my friends, must be, that i am growing, day by day, step by step. a side effect of growing into the man i have always wanted to be, is that i do not create quite the wake, in my journey through daily life. yes there are some TENTH STEP actions i need to take, but in the final analysis, no new NINTH step actions.
anyhow, i have to get rolling into my final day on the hill. it has been a very relaxing convention for me, and as i slide into getting out, i can see that it was just what i needed based on the stress i have been carrying the past few weeks.
