🎆 freedom 🎆

to become the person i have always wanted to be, is quite a feat. there are those around me, who encourage my growth into that being and facilitate it with every opportunity they get. then, there are others who do not understand and want to keep things the way they have always been. those who wish to be left behind, are being left behind, without any regrets on my part. my journey to becoming who i am, is taking off and on some levels i relate to my transgender nephew, hiding what he was because he did not know. i suppressed and hid from my reality, not because i was born the wrong gender, but because ii believed the lie that i was far too broken to allow anyone, even myself, to see who i really was. my identity was shaped in that darkness and only since my FIFTH STEP, have ii become freed from needing approval and affection from those who allowed me to sink into that darkness.
as i sat this morning, and i did sit, i embraced the void and heard that i have always been free to be what i am, ii just lacked the courage to let go of who i thought i “had” to be. this weekend, as i interact with all that are here to celebrate the Jenny's wedding, i can relish the freedom i feel and just be okay with who i am, even if that is still yet to be totally revealed. that journey has been exciting and fraught with peril, but it is certainly one that i am grateful to be embarked upon, just for today. 🥳 🥴

4) (Those who) possessed the highest (sense of) propriety were (always
seeking) to show it, and when men did not respond to it, they bared
the arm and marched up to them.
