value of practicality is without parallel, to turn a phrase. in fact more than once i have been told and have said if it is not practical it cannot be spiritual, when presented with an issue to which i was seeking a solution. when i was attempting to get clean, and everyone kept telling all i had to do is go to a meeting every day and do not use between meetings. that was the most practical thing i heaard in those early days, but i had other “issues” and i was different.
getting to the place where was i willing to do something, took more than a minute, but when it hit as the source material suggested “like a ton of bricks,” i saw what i was missing, the actual desire to live a live a life that was not montonous, boring and mostly on the verge of disater and misery. the whole abstinence piece was just the beginning of a pratical journey into the impractical world of spirituality. that jouurney has led me to a basement AirBnB in Bozeman, Montana, where i am pounding this little ditty out, after spending a weekend with my cousins celebrating a wedding. i had thee resources to fly up here with my spouse. i have built relaationships with family that actually have the desire to hang with me, not just tolerate me. what amazes the me the most is the fact that i want to be here and be a part of my family stuff. so as i pack up my stuff and get ready to head on out to breaakfast, i know that in a practical sense i haave everything i need to be more than i ever was, just for today.
