is the only way to short-circuit my self-fulfilling prophecies of doom and gloom.and what if wild monkeys come flying out my a$$! sounds pretty silly does it not? honestly when i start going on and on and on about what may or may not happen tomorrow, one year from now, or even an hour from now, i am being just as ridiculous as worrying about winged primates erupting from a sphincter. of course this does not mean that i just walk through life without any plans, goals or dreams, that would also be almost as silly as worrying about events. no my experienec is that i have to balance my desire for the future with the reality that living in this moment provides. it is true that i recently bought a house, and that is one of the gifts of living in the moment. one year ago i had obligations and was not financially fit enough to even consider such a purchase although i believed that was what i most NEEDED at that time. so what did i do? well i worked on a daily basis to reduce my debt load, pay off or otherwise settle my obligations and waited for the time and place to have my dream come true. was i patient? not hardly but i did not worry about the outcome, i was ready to accept far less than what i got, and what i got was beyond my wildest dreams. it is true that part of that deal is an obligation that stretches out for another thirty years. and it is also true that there is far more work to do to finish what has been given to me, but that will come as i continue to garner the resources that need to be gathered. but i hear you saying, what about if something terrible should happen, what will you do then? i can honestly say that i do not know hat i will do, if i choose to live in the FEAR of something happening beyond my control, i will miss the best gift of all, TODAY! i like having each day to live as it comes, i like being able to handle whatever little gifts today has to offer and i like having the ability to choose whether or not i will use chemicals. so whatever else the day may bring, i am happy that i have a chance to at least look at what it has not brought, and so far what has not been given to me is a desire to use and i gratefully accept that gift with all its implications and responsibilities!
