∞ my **quiet time** need not be lengthy to be effective, provided it is consistent ∞

twenty minutes taken regularly each day, however, renews and reinforces an already lively contact with my Higher Power. i understand the suggestion of twenty minutes and perhaps if i add up all the time is spend during the couple of times each day i stop and take the quiet time it adds up to twenty minutes. however, i do believe that the reading was speaking to length of time, but rather the maintenance of a routine. it is something i try and get the men i sponsor to engage in, and something that i have found helpful it keeping my recovery going -- a recovery routine that includes prayer and meditation. so back to the task at hand, writing about how my recovery routine helps me to stay clean. i have no doubts that such activity is important, at least to this addict. i know i had routines in active addiction, i also know that i am a creature of habit who needs to have routines in my life. so it feels quite natural, that to recover i need to replace my routines of active addiction with routines that promote my active recovery. so spending a few minutes at the beginning and end of my day asking for help and being grateful for the help i received is a good thing fopr me. spending some time in the morning listening rather than asking is also a good way for me, to get my day rolling. but anyhow i have things to do and people to see, so it is off to the rat race to see what i can get done, this day. after all, it is a good day to be in recovery.

I would make the people to old age, even to death, not have any intercourse
