α i am sure to find that i have literally hundreds of things …

...in my life that inspires my gratitude. an awakening of the spirit is the most valuable gift an addict can receive. okay, this last twelve hours has been to say the least a trying period in my recent adventure called life. i could inventory everything that has gone sour over this period, but dwelling on that aspect of my life is hardly the direction that i need to go this morning. so taking my cue from my daily horoscope as well as the JFT reading this morning, i am changing the manner that i am reacting to the little speed bumps that have been part and parcel of my life in this recent period.
a gratitude list? hmmmm. if i wanted to say bah humbug i don’t need no stinkin’ gratitude list, and move on, i am sure that i would probably not use. however, that is not a risk i choose to take today, so her goes …
    i am grateful for:
  • having the means to support myself
  • having a place to live that is protected from the elements
  • having the opportunity to work out on a daily basis
  • having a way of earning money that i enjoy and provides me the opportunity to exercise my mind
  • having the desire to improve my health by fixing problems that i have settled for in the past
  • the choice to recover
  • freedom from active addiction
  • friends, loved ones and family
  • a relationship with a POWER THAT KEEPS ME CLEAN
  • and the ability to get past what seem like insurmountable obstacles today
well maybe not hundreds , but enough to change my current outlook. things are better now, not that the problems of the past day have disappeared, no i still have to face those challenges , but at least i can face them with attitude far superior to the one i had before i started this little exercise. so off to the showers and then back at it, to see what i can get done today!

movements tend to the land (or place) of death. And for what reason?
Because of their excessive endeavours to perpetuate life.
