looking good

for me this goes beyond physical appearence and more directly to how my peers and associates view my actions and life.
i like to think that if i just act as if nothing is wrong, nobody will think nothing is wrong.
if i sound good in the rooms talking about how great everything is in my life, glossing over the issues i may be having, that everyone will believe that i am doing a great job of recovery.
howver, it has been my experience that the more i try and "look good", the worse i am actually doing on the inside.
something is wrong when i am behaving to seek outside validation. it is one of the warning signs (for me) that there is something seriously wrong with the current state of my program.
i need to get back to basics and do those things that got me clean, namely WORK the STEPS, Go to a MEETING, CALL my Sponsor, READ our Literature and DEEPEN my conscious Contact with GOD.
..but most of all remember that recovery is an inside JOB and scocial accepability does not equal RECOVERY.
