🐉 FREEDOM 🐉

from active addiction, at least for me is way more than just not having the desire to use. it is also not something that came from within me, nine thousand or so days ago. even though i often tire of thinking and sharing about GOD, i know that the POWER that fuels my recovery, is the source of my freedom from active addiction. i can and often do acknowledge that source, but for me, that is a very private matter and having to time and again proclaim what is, just wears me down. to put matters straight i accept that the POWER that fuels my recovery, provides me the power to stay clean, just for today. that POWER provides for my needs, IF i am present enough to see the opportunities as they arise and exercise them. simply put, i depend on that POWER foor sustenence and guidance, every single day of my life.
what i heard this morning was an ode to being more accepting of others, especially those who choose to be lonely. i finally got a clue why someone would spend so much time on their phone, texting with people who are thousands of miles away, that is their only social interaction on most days. as sad as that may sound, i “get” why they need to keep the conversation going, even on vacation, in their shoes i would be afraid that if i did not, i would be cut off. i may not be the most social of all creatures, but i am NOT going to choose to be alone, anymore. the same POWER that provides for my recoverry, also provide for mee the means to get what i DESIRE in this life, and today i desire connections to the outside and a rich social life. i have spent far too much of my llife choosing to bee separate and today i choose to be a part of the world around me.

THE TAO TEH KING, OR THE TAO AND ITS CHARACTERISTICS
by Lao-Tse
Translated by James Legge

Book 1

3) Therefore he who would administer the kingdom, honouring it as
he honours his own person, may be employed to govern it, and he who
would administer it with the love which he bears to his own person
may be entrusted with it.
