๐ the drive to ๐

move forward regardless of my mood, feels like a totally great place to start a deep dive into how i may or may not practice discipline, today. on this the day i have completed sixty-eight trips around the star i know as Sol, i often wonder about the roads not taken, especially the choices i have made in my career, since coming back to the corporate world. i have more than enough time to ponder that path, as this day goes on. i do have FAITH that if i pay attention, do the next right thing and grasp the opportunities that may come my way, i will get all that i need.
one might say, i am more than a bit obsessive when it comes to my daily routine. i have found that part of staying clean, for me anyhow, is adherence to a strict protocol of my daily recovery routine. when asked why i get out of bed so early in the morning, i am more than pleased to tell them that it is so i can do all i want and need to do, before i face the day ahead. the “need” is my daily conscious contact and my dip into the quiet of the void. the only time i allowed that routine to slip, was when i was on the slopes of Kilimanjaro, where i let all sorts of my person program of recovery, and hygiene slip away. i paid a price, not too steep, but a price nevertheless. what that taught me was that i can be okay and survive without the discipline of routines. but if i want to thrive, well i have the answer for that as well.
my goal today? to get through an entire game, win, lose or draw. to get some of my “free” birthday gifts from the various merchants who i patronize. to speak to my sponse about moving on from STEP TWO. and finally to find the ways ad means to commit to being disciplined at while working, as i have been more than a slacker for far too long. just for today, however, i will celebrate that at sixty-eight, i can still work, work-out and be a part of the world around me.
