i reveal my self-centered tendencies and find strategies to address them. this week has been an interesting one for me. one day i do everything correctly, take responsibility and move forward and the next i am complete mess that cannot do anything correctly, no matter how much effort i put into the task at hand. it has been one helluva a ride that ended up this morning with me sleeping in and foregoing my morning workout. i was not powerless over that decision, as i did roll over at five fifteen and decide to close my eyes, instead of rising to meet the world. certainly no victim in this situation and as i look at the past week, what went well and what did not, i see there are certainly no victims in any of the decisions i made, even though one of them blew everything up.
the reading spoke of a “fine line” between control and responsibility and i am not sure that at this point in my recovery journey, that line is as faint as some folks make it out to be. i almost always know what i am responsible for and take action, with no expectations of outcomes. maybe not almost always, but certainly more time than not. i see where i have power and where i do not and as i get good and ready to work my THIRD STEP, i see where i am headed, which right here and right now, is over to Boulder to participate in my home group and hang with a few of my friends and peers.
