∞ i can not forget that we have only a daily reprieve from our addiction. ∞

holding onto this daily reprieve must be the top priority in the life of any recovering addict.
i am really having difficulty getting started writing this morning, the reading screams for me to comment, but every time i start writing something, i erase it and start over. so what does that mean to me?? well for one, it seems to imply that i really have nothing to say about the siren’s song of romantic relationships and how they have affected my recovery. one thing for sure, is that i remained true to my priorities, i go to fewer meetings, go out and fellowship after meetings less, but i still have my service commitments, i still see my sponsees, i call my sponsor on a periodic basis (or not so periodic basis) and do an occasional question on my step work. but the thrill of romance and love has been exciting for me, and i have watched others drift out of the rooms on a cloud of love.
so i guess i am out of pithy comments and observations, i will just end with the little fact that i am grateful to be in recovery, and that i could spend some time with my sponsor last night. it is a GOOD day.

Book 2

2) There is always One who presides over the infliction death. He
who would inflict death in the room of him who so presides over it
may be described as hewing wood instead of a great carpenter. Seldom
is it that he who undertakes the hewing, instead of the great carpenter,
does not cut his own hands!
