∏ the more consistently i seek to improve my conscious appreciation ∏

of these principles, the more readily i will be able to apply them.t
as the sun rises this morning and i head south on the bus, i have a little bit of a heavy heart, before i left for work this morning, i had to lock our new addition in her kennel. why does that bother me? because i would love to trust to have the run of the house, and perhaps as she gets better settled in with us, that will be the case. it is as it is, and i need to go with the flow, sometimes doing the next right thing does not feel good.
coming back around to conscious application of thee principles, i get to be present for what i am feeling and i get to take care of my responsibilities as well. this whole trusting in being cared for gig, is still tough for me to accept. somedays it feels like the POWER that fuels my recovery has me in a kennel as well, so i do not hurt myself or the world around me. today it does not feel that way, i do however see the point, I NEED TO BE CARED FOR, just as Lucy does, and if she can trust me to feed and care for her, i CAN trust that POWER to do the same for me. that is where the tough get going. for me, it takes a whole lot more effort to surrender myself into that care, than to apply my energy to getting what i think i want. the irony here is that once i that when i surrender, the amount of energy i have to put into thriving actually decreases and life is so much easier. allowing myself to have the sort of FAITH, that our dawg shows is my task for today.
anyhow, i have a bit of work to get done, so i will end with this thought: I CAN SURRENDER and BE CERTAIN THAT I WILL GET WHAT NEED and perhaps WHAT I WANT as well.

☯ The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao ☯

THE TAO TEH KING, OR THE TAO AND ITS CHARACTERISTICS
by Lao-Tse
Translated by James Legge

Book 2

3) Their court(-yards and buildings) shall be well kept, but their
fields shall be ill-cultivated, and their granaries very empty. They
shall wear elegant and ornamented robes, carry a sharp sword at their
girdle, pamper themselves in eating and drinking, and have a superabundance
of property and wealth;--such (princes) may be called robbers and
boasters. This is contrary to the Tao surely!
