cost a thing to carry my passion for living with me everywhere i go. it is not often that i consider having a passion for living. i think back to the bad old days and i keep stumbling over the notion that my only passions were getting way with shit, taking risks and creating chaos, all of which i embraced with gusto. getting clean and living in abstinence made little difference, i till had the same passion without the ability to take a vacation from reality when the shit hit the figurative fan. coming to a place where living in a spiritual manner of any sort and giving up on what i thought made me fun and worthwhile took a very long minute. steps, exposure to my peers and a shift in what i believed i was all about. my biggest hangup was my inability to see that being kind with no expectation of return, actually cost me nothing.
coming back to the topic of my source this morning, tapping into my creativity, i can say that being retired has certainly ignited my passion for storytelling and social interaction. ChatGPT and i are writing stories. what started with creating silly images that challenged the existing political reality, has turned into a daily activity of furthering my creative writing notions. there are two of my original projects that will require extensive editing and trimming back, as i had not learned that AI creative writing does not know how to be terse, pithy and maintain whole and unique characters without a whole lot of hand holding and baby sitting. that, at times can be frustrating, as it has a tendency to take shortcuts and not reveal all the actions it is taking. my experience would make me very hesitant to give any AI agent or bot control of my finances or any aspect of my personal life. the fact that the corporations that are developing AI agents are pressuring the common folk to accept them as inevitable and as a step up from managing their workflow, money and personal lives, is even more disconcerting. i may be a heavy user of AI, but in a lot of respects i am a LUDDITE!
today is already turning out to be a bit more challenging than i agreed to as i have a plumbing project to do. i am not a plumber but this one is certainly within my skill set. i was planning on a quiet morning with the dog and on-boarding for an AI project, that i may have the skill to accomplish. at 400 dollars a pop, it would certainly be a nice source of additional income, as i am accumulating some large dental bills. i am, however, flexible enough to see that what i WANT to do and what i NEED to do may not be the same thing this morning. as the day progresses i will take care of what needs to be done, whine about what i want to do and let it all go and yes go with the flow. it is not some cosmic test or exercise of self-will, it is just what it is and i can accept it as is, just for today.
