my perception of the truth
posted: Sun, Oct 17, 2004 11:15:39 AM
i love this topic it has such depth and yet can be looked at so superficially that anyone can it apply it.
for me, i understand that i knew very little if anything of the truth about myself, the disease of addiction or the path of recovery when i started out. today i know a bit more about all three of the these topics and have become more open-minded to learning even more.
today i cannot admit my mistakes and revise my world view to accomodate alternative explainations of the truth.
so just for today i seek the open-mindedness to discover the depth of my commitment to the process

☯ The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao ☯
by Lao-Tse
Translated by James Legge
Book 2
4) Therefore the sage desires what (other men) do not desire, and
does not prize things difficult to get; he learns what (other men)
do not learn, and turns back to what the multitude of men have passed
by. Thus he helps the natural development of all things, and does
not dare to act (with an ulterior purpose of his own).
