🎢 regular inventory 🎠

and meaningful commitments is certainly a topic on which i could go on and on about. to save a bit of time, i can say that i came into recovery with very little desire to commit to anything, either service to my fellowship or any sort of intimate relationship. over time, long after i made a commitment to stay clean and ended my over-commitment to serving the fellowship, i am finally finding a balance between committing to myself and my program of active recovery and committing to those in my life with whom i have formed loving and caring relationships. i know that more than once, ad part of my daily inventory, i have stumbled more than once and have had to admit where i did wrong.
today in my home group i owned the fact that i had felt “put upon” to keep our doors open and had formed more than a bit of a resentment. what it took to get through that was a deep look at who i was and what i really did owe my peers in recovery. after seeing how much of a “baby” i was being, i finally came to my senses and realized that i CHOOSE to serve my peers in recovery and i can walk away at any time. opening my eyes to the fact that the only person who was forcing me to do anything was me, relieved that pressure and once again i became “whole” once again.
oh yeah before i forget…

Congrats on EIGHTEEN (XVIII) years clean!

so it is off to Best buy to recycle my old notebook computer and perhaps a trip to my Mom's house to sort out her insurance information. life is not too shabby today and i can commit to doing whatever i need to do, to serve those who my depend on me, just for today.

☯ The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao ☯

THE TAO TEH KING, OR THE TAO AND ITS CHARACTERISTICS
by Lao-Tse
Translated by James Legge

Book 2

3) Their court(-yards and buildings) shall be well kept, but their
fields shall be ill-cultivated, and their granaries very empty. They
shall wear elegant and ornamented robes, carry a sharp sword at their
girdle, pamper themselves in eating and drinking, and have a superabundance
of property and wealth;--such (princes) may be called robbers and
boasters. This is contrary to the Tao surely!
