freedom without the strength of my relationships and the strength of those relationships relies on how well i apply the principle of goodwill to those with whom i share my life. i am not a huge fan of some of the esoteric topic that come up in my source material. good will and relationships, as i have said in the past, is certainly a topic i need to consider, even when it is wrapped up in all sorts of other stuff. i know the point of what i read this morning was to remind me that my relationships with self, society, service and the POWER that fuels my recovery, are rooted in goodwill and are all interrelated. i had difficulty, however, focusing merely on that notion and went down at least a few rabbit holes as i sat this morning.
as i sat this morning, what kept coming up was my obsession with AI, now that i have the perfect image of my central figure, what my next steps might be. the other topic that kept screaming at me was whether of not i was ready to take the next assessment and how much my prep for that would cut into my AI time. 🤣 after peeking at the topics, i can say, no AI time today, as i want to take the assessment test tomorrow. between those two distractions what i did hear was that i have friends and as a member of the fellowship that has given me this manner of living, i get to be of service to my peers, even if they are not quite my peers, yet. for me, practicing goodwill means that i treat everyone who crosses my path with kindness, respect and courtesy. more importantly, that i do not place any expectations on them to reciprocate.i did flip off an impatient left hand turner, very early in my run yesterday. that driver insisted on starting her turn even though i was in the crosswalk, long before her decision to make her turn. it has been a few minutes since i behaved in that manner and although i was not wrong, it was me that had to deal with the damage, as i have no idea what the effect of my middle finger salute and invective were on her. i disrespected myself, more than anyone else and it did not make my TENTH STEP, last night.
now that i have told on myself, it is time to get on with my day and start the prep fro the test i want to pass in the morning tomorrow. it is a good day to be clean and a better day to live in a manner that embraces goodwill, in my dealings with the world around me, just for today.
